Review times depend on whether your site is still in Demo mode or already live.
If your site is still in Demo mode (pre-launch)
Batch review starts after you submit your site. We review your documents together as part of the site review, rather than one at a time as they're uploaded.
So don't wait for document approval before submitting your site — submitting is what starts the review. Documents sitting at "Pending Approval" beforehand aren't stuck; they're waiting for a review that begins when you submit. Keep uploading content and finishing your setup in the meantime. See Setting up your site: the launch checklist.
If your site is already live
Most performer paperwork is reviewed within one business day, and scene or performer 2257 document review may take up to 48 hours.
Because of that window, upload documents ahead of your planned publication date to allow time for review and approval. Uploading paperwork the same day you plan to publish is what causes delays.
How to keep reviews moving
- Upload the full set for each performer: photo ID, selfie holding ID, signed model release, and signed 2257 form.
- Make sure images are sharp, well lit, and show all four corners of the document.
- Check that the name on the release matches the ID.
- Watch for a Returned status — that means something needs fixing (unclear photo, missing signature, expired ID). Re-upload the corrected document and it goes back in the queue.
See Compliance documents for performers (2257) for the full requirements.
Checking status
Each performer shows a badge: Pending (waiting on review), Approved, Returned (needs a fix), or Verified by Ondato. If something has been pending well beyond these timeframes, contact support (profile menu, top-right → Contact Us) with the performer's name and we'll check on it.
