Thumbnails on your scene, reel, and photo cards are served as optimized copies rather than your full-size originals. You control how large those copies are — the trade-off between how sharp your grids look and how fast your pages load.
Where to set it
- Go to Site → Details.
- Find Card Thumbnails.
- Set the Width (pixels) — anywhere from 100 to 2000. The default is 467.
Height is calculated automatically from the width, so your images keep their proportions and nothing gets stretched or cropped.
Choosing a width
- Larger (600–900) — crisper thumbnails, especially on big screens and high-resolution displays. Costs a little page speed.
- Around the default (467) — a balanced choice that suits most themes.
- Smaller (300–400) — fastest loading. Good if your layout shows many small cards per row.
The right number depends on how big your cards actually are. If your theme shows three large cards per row, a bigger width pays off; a dense six-per-row grid won't benefit from it. Set your items per row first, then look at your site and adjust — see Page structure: reordering sections, hiding sections, and editing your navigation.
Hover preview
The same Card Thumbnails area has a Hover preview setting — choose whether hovering a scene card plays its preview clips (default) or its trailer. See Using your trailer as the hover preview.
Mobile is handled for you
Whatever width you choose, mobile requests are capped at 342px so phone visitors never download oversized images. You get the sharpness you want on desktop without punishing mobile data.
Turning resizing off
You can switch Resize card thumbnails off entirely, and your original images will be used instead. This usually isn't a good idea: original files can be much larger and may noticeably slow down page loading, especially on mobile connections — and most of your visitors are on phones.
After changing it
New sizes are generated as pages are visited. If your grids still look the same, clear your cache and hard-refresh — see Content not showing up on your site? Clear the cache.
This setting only affects the optimized copies used on cards. Your uploaded originals and your full-size images are untouched.
