Before any live stream starts, we confirm who's appearing on camera. It's a short, two-part check — here's what to expect so it doesn't slow you down on stream day.
1. Add the performers who'll be in the stream
In your live stream setup, select every performer who will appear on camera. Each one is listed with their status:
- ✓ Verified — good to go.
- Not verified — this performer can't go live yet.
All performers must be verified before you can go live. If someone shows as not verified, complete their verification first — see Compliance documents for performers (2257). When everyone's set, you'll see "All performers verified ✓".
2. The headcount check
Just before your stream begins, we take a quick webcam photo to confirm that the number of people on camera matches the performers you added.
- Make sure everyone who will appear in the stream is visible in the frame — and no one else.
- Click to take the photo. It's checked automatically in a few seconds.
- If it passes, you'll confirm and your stream starts.
The photo is saved for verification purposes — it's a compliance record, never shown on your site.
If the check doesn't pass
You can retake it as many times as you need. Common reasons it fails:
- Someone in the shot who isn't one of the added performers (a camera operator, a partner walking past) — clear the frame.
- A performer who is added but not visible — get everyone in frame.
- The photo is too dark or blurry to read — improve your lighting and hold still.
Attempts are recorded, so if you get stuck after a few tries, contact support (profile menu, top-right → Contact Us) and we'll help.
Why we do this
Live content has the same legal requirements as recorded content: everyone appearing must be a verified adult with paperwork on file. Doing the check at go-live time is what lets us support live streaming while staying compliant with our billing partners' rules — it protects you as much as it protects the platform.
Tips
- Verify performers days before a planned stream, not minutes before — verification isn't instant.
- Doing a solo stream? It's just you in frame, and the check takes seconds.
- Guest joining you? Add them as a performer and get them verified ahead of time.
