Fans can now pay to message you, and you set the price. Tokens are the currency behind chat and live streaming — here's how both pieces work.
Turn on paid messages
- Go to your Chat Settings (Audience → Messages).
- Turn on paid messages — the "Earn from every message" option.
- Set your price per fan message in tokens (1–999).
Fans spend tokens each time they message you, and they see the price and their token balance before they send. Your replies are always free — you're never charged to answer.
Create your token packages
Token packages are what fans buy to get tokens. You control the bundles, so you can offer an entry-level option and better value on bigger ones.
- Go to Business → Tokens.
- For each package set Tokens fans receive and the Price (USD).
- Save — packages appear wherever fans need tokens.
Packages are used in messages and live streaming (including tips) — never in VOD checkout, which is a separate one-time purchase.
Note: the Tokens page only appears once Messages or Live streaming is enabled on your site — token packages only show up where fans can actually spend them.
Other chat settings worth setting
- Profile image and welcome message — the avatar and greeting fans see when they join your chat.
- VOD teaser — pick a scene from your library to tease in chat, with an upsell amount.
Pricing tips
- Start modest on per-message pricing — volume of conversation is worth more than a high per-message rate that stops fans messaging at all.
- Give bigger packages a real discount per token; it's the simplest way to raise average spend.
- Free replies are a feature — use them. Fans who get answers keep buying tokens.
